When is it time?
The decision to euthanise a pet is one of the most difficult moments in a pet owner's life. We understand that this decision is never made lightly. Sometimes illness progresses to a point where treatment no longer brings relief, or your pet's quality of life has declined significantly. If you are wondering whether your pet is still happy, please do not hesitate to talk with us — we are here to help you with this difficult decision, without pressure and at your own pace.
How does the procedure work?
We strive to ensure that saying goodbye happens calmly, without rush. Your pet is first given a sedative with pain relief, causing the animal to relax and fall asleep within a few minutes. You are welcome to stay by your pet's side throughout. Once the animal is in deep sleep, the euthanasia agent is administered intravenously. Your pet passes peacefully and painlessly — they feel nothing. The entire process is designed to be as gentle as possible, both for your pet and for you.
Practical matters
You are welcome to bring your pet's favourite blanket or toy. Please allow enough time so that you can say goodbye in peace. There is no rush. After the procedure, you may choose cremation, individual cremation (ashes returned in an urn), or home burial. We are happy to explain the different options. The invoice is sent afterwards — you do not need to worry about payment at that moment.
Grief
Losing a pet is genuine grief, and that is natural. Everyone grieves in their own way and at their own pace. The memories you shared with your pet are precious and lasting. It is important to allow children the opportunity to grieve and process the loss as well. If you feel you need support, do not hesitate to speak with us or seek help. The love a pet gives does not disappear — it stays in your heart.
